Scotty Cameron is arguably the market leader when it comes to making high quality putters. Part of the Acushnet group of companies that includes Titleist, Footjoy, Pinnacle, Scotty Cameron continues to makes some of the finest golf putters available, reflected in the number of tour players that currently use this type of putter. The range includes the traditional putter models such as the Newport and Studio Select, in addition to more recent styles such as the Circa 62, Red X, Fastback and Kombi. Whichever putter you choose, by selecting a Scotty Cameron putter you are guaranteed one of the best putters on the market. Scotty Cameron was born in California in 1962. Growing up, Scotty Cameron often played golf with his father. When they weren't out on a golf course, they were in the garage working on clubs, shaping heads, wrapping grips, creating new designs, then taking them out for "field" tests. With the golf putter, the idea was, when it's finished, it should look like it melts into the ground. One of the last things Scotty remembers his dad telling him was, "Stick with the game of golf, Scotty. I think you have a future." For his early designs, Scotty Cameron started out using a table-top mill in his mother-in-law's garage. Because of the mill's limitations, he compensated by becoming an excellent shaper and finisher, a talent that has helped establish his exceptional reputation for craftsmanship. In 1991, after working with the Ray Cook Golf Company, Scotty worked with Maxfli, Cleveland Classics, Founder's Golf and Mizuno. In 1992 he and his wife started Cameron Golf International. Their goal was to design the finest putters for the best players in the world. The year 1993 was a turning point for the Scotty Cameron company, when one of their putters was used to win the Masters. During the Players Championship in 1994, well known teaching pro Peter Kostis approached Scotty and mentioned that Titleist Golf was interested in his company to design putters. The next day Scotty received a call from Wally Uihlein, CEO of Acushnet Company, and they agreed to meet. After several meetings, it was clear they shared the same vision and a relationship was formed. In September of 1994, Cameron Golf International and Acushnet Company became partners. The rest is history. Tour Usage: Adam Scott, Ross Fisher, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Robert Karlsson www.scottycameron.com
