your swing. You can reduce the amount of awkward half shots you have to a minimum by having four golf wedges in your bag, and having perfect gapping between them. Choosing the correct loft of your wedges starts by finding out what loft the pitching wedge in your set is. If it is a more traditionally lofted golf iron then it will usually be somewhere in the region of 48-degrees. Ideally, then you would be looking for 4 degrees of loft difference between your next three wedges. A perfect wedge set up, in this case, would be: - 

• 48-degree pitching wedge 
• 52-degree gap wedge 
• 56-degree sand wedge 
• 60-degree lob wedge 

If you have a stronger lofted iron set your pitching wedge will more like be 44 or 45 degrees. In this case, start your next wedge at 50, then 54 then either a 58 or 60. 58 or 60 is a preference as you are unlikely to be playing many full shots with your lob wedge, so it is more about which you feel more comfortable with.
