then you will need to purchase a golf flight cover. Golf can be a fairly expensive game, with new golf irons often costing into the thousands and single woods into the hundreds, so it is essential to afford your trusted clubs some protection while they are boarded onto the aircraft.

Baggage handling can be a pretty rough experience for even the toughest of suitcases, so the premium graphite shaft on your favourite driver stands no chance of withstanding some of the impacts it will encounter without a golf flight bag.

There two main styles of golf flight bags these days. One is a hard case which, although extremely robust, can be a little on the heavy side and tend to have few external pockets for stowing extra luggage. There are also soft cased golf flight bags that have lots of padding around the top end of the bag where your club heads will be. This style tends to have lots of extra storage space, which can prove invaluable as you struggle to keep things under the weight limit on your standard cases.

With golf flight bags, you generally get what you pay for. There are some that are extremely low cost, but they tend to have insufficient padding and don’t offer the kind of protection you would hope for. You should always try and pick a golf travel cover that has the maximum amount of padding at the top.
