The Titleist 917 D2 Driver offers golfers a lovely combination of distance with forgiveness in a full 460cc pear profile. The latest in the long line of stunning Titleist drivers, the 917 D2 is better than ever. In keeping with other Titlest driver models of the past, the D2 offers more forgiveness, a slightly higher launch and more spin versus 917 D3 model.
What's new in the 917 Drivers?
The biggest changes from previous Titleist drivers is the SureFit CG Technology. Titleist have engineered this to the CG (centre of gravity) to be moved from a back, heel position to a forward, toe position through interchangeable the interchangeable weights. The benefit for the player is optimised spin and launch conditions.
What weights come with 917 D2 driver?
Each driver comes with 2 weights (Neutral and Draw/Fade). The playability can be altered very easily by the player by changing the weights in the head. The neutral weight, as one might expect, weighs the same at each end but the Draw/Fade needs to be put in the appropriate way round. It is so easy and fun to use. The 12g is standard for the driver and 14g standard for the 917 F2 and F3 fairway woods.
16 independent loft and lie settings
Thanks to the SureFit Hosel, which was been so successful in previous Titleist drivers, the 917 D2 offers the golfer 16 independent loft and lie settings, allowing them to create a more consistent and optimised ball flight through precision adjustment. The wrench needed to adjust the weights and hosel are included with the driver.
Active Recoil 2.0 Channel Technology
The 917 models feature Active Recoil 2.0 Channel Technology, something that has been designed by Titleist to deliver more distance for golfers of all levels. It achieves this by actively flexing at impact to launch the ball off the face with higher speed and lower spin - the key ingredients for more distance off the tee. Golf clubs without ARC technology impart more spin on drives. The Radial Speed Face is a high speed face insert with a thick centre and radially thin perimeter in the heel and toe to deliver more distance on off-centre hits. This is an important point when it comes to improving. The further poor strikes go, the better. The Titleist 917 D2 will help golfers do that.
