The Apex range of hybrids has been around for several seasons now and have always been incredibly popular in the golf bags of both every day amateur golfers and those of the best players in the world of professional tours. 2021 sees the release of the latest version of the Apex and it arrives with much fanfare with new improved technologies resulting in significant gains in ball speed, distance and forgiveness levels.
The Jailbreak technology that was first seen on the original Epic range of clubs back in 2017 has been redesigned using Artificial Intelligence and now sees the Jailbreak Blades spread and angle inside the club head. This not only stiffens the body up, but also causes the forged face cup to flex more and the result is explosive ball speeds from all parts of the face. The most common mishit with a hybrid is low on the face, this new technology dramatically improves performance on low face strikes. Every club face in the Apex Hybrid range is individually designed to provide the maximum ball speed possible and excellent performance will now be achieved even on off centre hits.
Two Metal Injection Moulded Tungsten Weights have been added internally, behind the club face, and serves to optimise launch and spin through precise CG placement. The weight placement alters for each hybrid loft ensuring that the perfect launch conditions are achieved for each specification. The Callaway Apex Hybrids come with an adjustable hosel which allows for loft adjustments of +/- 2 degrees giving the golfer lots of scope to achieve the desired trajectory and distance.
