Injury Prevention during a Warm-Up or Post Round Warm Down
If ever I go for a run and then feel horrendously stiff immediately afterwards, my wife says "well did you stretch and warm up?"  Obviously not, I put Metallica on my Airpods and ran out of the door.  Warming up is obviously a huge part of sport and golfers the world over, of all standards, will hit a few balls before heading to the 1st tee.  Therabody have helpfully detailed some exercises that you can use your percussive therapy device before you play so you aren't just nursing soreness after you play but stopping that happening in the first place.

Exercise #1 -  WARM UP | TOTAL TIME: 7 MINUTES
Prepare your body for your best round yet.  Take stress off your lower back, generate more power in each swing, and reduce your risk of injury with 30 seconds per muscle.  Sweep across your calves, quads, chest, traps, and forearms using the Dampener attachment, then switch to the Standard Ball and target each glute.



Exercise #2 - MID-ROUND | TOTAL TIME: 4 MINUTES
The back-9 boost.  Mid-round recovery can make a crucial difference on the back 9. Hit your calves, quads, glutes, and lower back for 15-30 seconds each to take stress off your back in your swing and help relieve lingering discomfort and lactic acid build up in the legs.



Exercise #3 - POST-ROUND | TOTAL TIME: 12 MINUTES
Back at the clubhouse or at home after your round, sweep the top and bottom of your forearms with the Supersoft attachment for 30 seconds each, followed by 15 seconds of wrist flexion and extension stretches. Finish with 30 seconds of light pressure with PRO directly on the area of elbow pain.



While whipping out your percussive therapy device at the driving range or at the halfway house may feel a little alien at the moment, these things are catching on and catching on fast!  The feedback we have had from customers all over the world of all ages and golfing standards has been incredible.  There are clear benefits to be had from adequate muscular recovery (otherwise Premier League managers wouldn't moan about the festive fixtures every year) and with Therabody, it's nice to know that this level care is available to everybody and not just the best players in the world.
