TaylorMade Tour Truck comes to Scottsdale

As an amateur golfer, who doesn’t dream on playing on Tour? I know I do, even at the tender age of just 31, part of me deep down still thinks that by some miracle, everything will click, and I’ll one day find myself rubbing shoulders with the likes of DJ, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and of course Tiger himself.

All of that, is of course, nothing but a dream. However, a lucky few and I, got a small taste of the kind of service and luxury that must be second nature to the aforementioned players, when the TaylorMade Tour Truck rolled its way into Scottsdale Golf for day visit, mere days after Collin Morikawa had so clinically dispatched the field at Royal St. Georges during the 149th Open Championship, his superb iron play in particular saw to this.

18 of our customers who were in the market for a new driver, decided to take advantage of a rare opportunity that they’d seen advertised on Scottsdale Golf’s social media channels, where they received a fitting for a new TaylorMade Driver from one of Scottsdale’s custom-fit specialists and then climbed the sacred steps into the Tour Truck.

As the other excited guests and I, made our way into the sleek white 40+ foot Truck, we were greeted by a wall of compartments made up for each member of Team Taylormade. Each stuffed with their very own personalised balls, their apparel of choice for the week, bespoke headcovers, and everything else that you can possibly think of.

Making our way further inside, we gathered in the state-of-the-art workshop, where the tools of the finest players in the world are expertly crafted to their exact specification and desire. Where we were given the full tour experience by Dan Morris, TaylorMade’s Experiential Manager, whilst we all indulged our inner golfing fan boy and lauded over the endless draws and compartments filled with Tiger’s iron heads, Rory’s drivers & Tommy Fleetwood’s Tour Bag, that on the day was filled with putters he was obviously trying to decide on.

In a flash, the glimpse that some of our customers, competition winners and staff had, of what life is like as one of the elite golfers in the world, and how they are meticulously managed and looked after week by week at various events around the globe by Taylormade in this rolling golfing fitting centre on wheels, was gone. Off to its next stop on the never ending journey, that is, life on Tour.
