SIK Putters - Change The Way You Roll

Like many amateur golfers, I have often thought that changing putter will miraculously cause me to drain more putts – my own bloated putter collection is flagrant proof of this. I have already gained a reputation in the office for being a romancer of the blade and a man with a penchant for buying the latest and rarest flat stick on a whim. Guilty as charged, I just love putters

When I heard that the rep for SIK putters was scheduled to visit our Performance & Build Centre, to showcase their amazing range of putters, I could barely contain my excitement. Although I was more than aware of their growing status in the game, at this point I had only seen them on the TV, wielded so successfully by Bryson DeChambeau in his stunning US Open victory. I will however, admit to having a dash of skepticism as I made my way down to the studio to examine and test SIK’s comprehensive range of putters. The feeling that it would all be a disappointing gimmick was sitting uncomfortably in my stomach, and there was a genuine fear that I wouldn't actually need to buy one.

Over the course of the next hour those feelings dispersed into the ether, and any misguided or negative preconceptions I had disappeared as I holed putt after putt after putt. I desperately tried to keep a euphoric smile from taking over my face - and my wallet from appearing next to the work credit card machine. It was all to no avail though, as at this point, I knew that SIK were onto something and a purchase had to be made.

SIK have taken the “art of putting” and flipped it on its head. They approached it with a scientific mindset and created something that is truly revolutionary. Each of SIK’s putters features their patented Descending Loft Technology (D.L.T) which sees four flat surfaces masterfully milled into the putter face. Each plane descends in loft by one degree, from the top of the face to the bottom. Many golfers have putting strokes whereby the putter shaft is leaning forward at impact. This creates a downward angle of attack and causes the ball to contact high on the face. Conversely, there are many players who hit putts with an upward angle of attack, striking the ball low on the face. The D.L.T. technology delivers consistent launch angles regardless of how the putter is delivered by the golfer, and produces more consistent and predictable rolls as a result.

Armlock putting has been around for some time now and it had never really interested me before this day, but the combination of SIK’s head technology and the parallel orientation of the JMX/SIK grip to the putter face had me immediately hooked. I was seeing greater control of the putter face, superior consistency in my address and putts that started out on their intended line over and over again.

SIK offer 5 different head options for in these revolutionary putters, the Pro, DW, Flo, Jo & Sho. Say those 5 times fast after a few Sambucas! Each head is available with custom sight-line options so every player is catered for. Along with the customisable putter heads and finishes, come custom grip options, and shafts...yes shafts...in a putter. The "LA Golf Shaft" option is supremely stable and will give you the benefit of even greater face angle consistency. It may seem peculiar having an "Extra Stiff" shaft in your putter, but unlike in a driver it is very responsive and gives that much craved "buttery" feel on centered strikes.

Often when I buy a new putter, there are moments of doubt and maybe even a shade of guilt. Not on this day though, for I knew that I was buying something that was actually going to improve my putting... And it has. It remains in my golf bag to this day and I can’t ever imagine it not being so. It has finally happened; my putter lothario days are behind me. I have finally settled down.

You can book in for a SIK putter fitting at our Performance & Build Centre where we have the full range of SIK putters and shafts available to demo along with our Sam Putt LAB.
